Inclusivity for Events: Making Your Event More Welcoming, Not Just Accessible
Erin Jackson
Community Engagement Manager
ArtFest Fort Myers
Fort Myers, FL

Change your perspective on planning your event through the lens of being welcoming to all attendees. Festivals and Events have safety procedures set in place but have you reached out to diverse community groups for their expertise on accessibility. Have you spoken to a wheelchair user or someone who is hearing impaired? Their perspective on your Festival or Event site can help you make your event more welcoming, not just accessible.

Erin Jackson is a Florida native, growing up in Southwest Florida. She attended Florida Gulf Coast University and graduated with a Degree in Resort & Hospitality Management. Her first experience with festivals and events was as an intern with ArtFest Fort Myers. Now 8 years later, she is the Community Engagement Manager at ArtFest Fort Myers where she has the pleasure to coordinate all Artists and Volunteers for the Festival. Her hospitality background started in Resorts working in Guest Services, Front Office, and as a Concierge on Captiva Island and later moving onto Naples, FL. In her spare time she loves to go camping with her family, traveling to new campsites around Florida.
