This quote pretty much sums up the Festival and Event Industry in 2020. All of us have experienced chaos since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in mid-March. If that was not enough, we have all had to make changes, and in most instances, drastic changes, to exist and stay relevant.

IFEA is no different. As the Festival and Event Industry was looking for valuable information and resources to help them navigate their way through the pandemic, IFEA stepped to the forefront and created a number of new programs, on top of the many valuable programs already available, to assist both IFEA Members and the Festivals & Events Industry.

IFEA as an organization, has been heavily impacted by COVID-19 too. Just like we had to cancel our Festivals & Events, IFEA made the difficult decision to move the 65th Annual IFEA Convention, Expo and Retreat, presented by Haas & Wilkerson Insurance to 2021. Along with Association Memberships, Convention Registrations are a major source of revenue for the IFEA. And for those who have attended the Convention before, you will know that fundraising is also an integral part during the Convention.

With the absence of the Annual Convention, COVID-19 has forced the IFEA World and Foundation Board of Directors, to take a whole new look at fundraising efforts. We are excited to share some new ways listed to the right, for you to be able to support the IFEA and the IFEA Foundation, at a time when your support is needed more than ever.

The COVID-19 pandemic has hit everyone in the Festivals & Events Industry. We are all looking for support. However, we all have one commonality - IFEA. During this time of crisis, IFEA has gone above and beyond to be there for the Festivals & Events Industry, offering support, information, resources, programming and much more. IFEA cannot do all of that without our support. Memberships, registrations, advertising, sponsorships, and fundraising efforts are what make it possible for IFEA to support all of us. IFEA needs our support now, more than ever.

IFEA Day is a day to celebrate the Festivals & Events Industry! A day to learn, laugh, and love what we’ve all been through over the past 8 months. A day to share ideas, to trade stories and unleash new creativity, conversations and solutions as we look towards a bright new future for everyone! Valuable information will be presented from months of research conducted by your industry peers related to Re-presenting, Re-opening, Re-Connecting, Re-imagining and protecting the financial sustainability of our events looking forward! This is definitely a day not to be missed. Best of all, it is FREE to all IFEA Members and very affordable for non-Members.

At the end of IFEA Day, will be the “IFEA Foundation Celebration” where we will continue the celebration of the Festivals & Events Industry while showing as much support as we can to the IFEA and the IFEA Foundation! The goal of the Celebration will be to raise funds for the IFEA Foundation’s Scholarship Fund, allowing young professionals getting into this industry an opportunity to advance their career! SIGN UP FOR A CHEFTORIAL

Another new and unique way the IFEA Foundation is planning to raise funds is through a Virtual Cooking Class called ChefTorial. If you’ve been wanting to get together with a group of friends, colleagues, sponsors, board members, volunteers or others, but it’s not safe to gather in large groups yet, this unique experience provides you with the perfect opportunity! Not only will you all get to gather together (virtually), but guided by a professional chef, everyone will also get the chance to virtually prepare the meal together.
There will be 9 ChefTorials available with 12 screens/log-ins available per ChefTorial. Each screen/log-in will be $100. Each of the 9 ChefTorials will have a menu focused on cuisine from various IFEA global regions and will take place on either November 6th or November 14th. Stay tuned for more details. (We’ll also have one ChefTorial (12 screens/log-ins) up for grabs in our Online Auction).
