Since becoming a Regional Director for IFEA in 2004, I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting our fine members and learning even more about the cultures, traditions and geography that makes Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana home to some of the most creative and vibrant festivals found anywhere. The fact that we even have a Fireant Festival shows our regions ability to make the best out of even the most cantankerous elements of our rich region!
One of the greatest accomplishments of IFEA's work in Region Three is the creation of many successful partnerships, which have helped to spread education and awareness using previously untapped resources. These efforts have forged dynamic relationships with state tourism, agriculture and natural resource agencies, as well as other associations who share common goals and potential members.
While our world continues to change and evolve, we will experience untold challenges and opportunities. I hope you will think of IFEA, and me your local representative, as a portal to both those challenges and opportunities - ready to provide ideas, support and a caring-ear.
As in any relationship, there is a direct correlation to "what you put into it" and "what you get out of it." Your membership in IFEA is only as good as your willingness to put it to work for you. Come to an educational event, read our quarterly magazine, visit our online resource library, call your colleagues listed in the IFEA Directory, save money with one of our many discounted services programs and please…call me!
